Top Priorities
-
I am committed to environmental justice for all and oppose unsustainable development that harms people in our district, adds to traffic and congestion, and leads to more air pollution to the detriment of our health and safety.
-
I believe our state needs to invest in and protect workers, their safety, and their rights. That means continuing to raise the minimum wage to guarantee a living wage for all and ensuring every worker can form a union at their workplace without harassment, abuse, or retaliation by their employer.
I support strengthening the Community Workforce Agreement Act to expand our use of project labor agreements, prevailing wage, and apprenticeships. Delaware must commit to Green infrastructure to increase jobs and protect our environment.
-
I’m a product of public schools and I know that when we adequately fund programs and services our schools flourish. Public schools are an asset and I support halting the creation of more charter schools until we fully understand their impact on public schools.
We need to guarantee that low income students, students of color, and students with disabilities receive equal education and provide the funding necessary to make that happen.
-
My life in advocacy began as a result of sexual violence and I remain committed to winning justice for survivors and making it far easier and safer for them to report cases of violence against them.
I am ardently pro-choice and applaud the state of Delaware for codifying the right to abortion in law. I believe we need to continue that work by allowing the use of Medicaid funds for abortion.
We need to do more to support working women and moms to guarantee pay transparency and equity. Additionally, the Office of Women’s Advancement and Advocacy is fighting for important needs like more lactation rooms in workplaces and ensuring nursing mothers rights are protected, which I support.
-
I am committed to protecting trans youth by ensuring no discriminatory bills pass, including those attempting to bar trans athletes from participating in sports.
We need to end the discrimination LGBTQIA people continue to experience in healthcare and guarantee equity.
I believe we need to make it easier for trans people to change their gender on legal documents and create a nonbinary option for gender on legal documents.
-
Delaware is lucky to be a place so many people want to call home, but I recognize we must protect the ability for anyone to live in our district no matter their income level. All development must be sustainable and affordable.
Everyone in Delaware should be guaranteed a safe home, but as we make progress toward that goal we have to also protect people experiencing homelessness. I support the Homeless Bill of Rights to enshrine civil protections for everyone in Delaware no matter their housing situation.
We need Tenant Protections to prevent discrimination against any prospective tenants based on their source of income, allow tenants to organize, and guarantee a tenant’s right to counsel in any legal proceedings.
-
I believe we need a budget that addresses the root causes of crime and provides services, not just policing.
Our state needs to ensure police transparency and accountability through repeal of LEOBOR.
